The House In Ise by Takashi Yamaguchi & Associates located in Honshu, Japan | The Hardt
The House In Ise by Takashi Yamaguchi & Associates located in Honshu, Japan overlooking the beautiful Miyagawa River flowing from north to south through the Japanese town of Ise on the island of Honshu. The house is composed of two volumes of inclined roofs, arranged in parallel and connected by a central atrium. Inside, a double set of voids allows the view of the sky and the river. The first is a vertical vacuum linking the roof terrace with the first-floor patio. At this level, another gap, in this case, horizontal and connected to the vertical, opens to the views of the Miyagawa River and visually widens the inner space to the outside. The interaction between these two gaps – the way they intersect and connect with the interior spaces – creates a more complex and rich setting throughout the whole building
