Located in Celaya, Mexico, House M2 (2014) by Hernández Silva Arquitectos | The Hardt
Located in Celaya, Mexico, House M2 by Hernández Silva Arquitectos. The entrance manifests itself as a volume floated on a large wooden wall. Passing through this large, floated body we arrive at a small space that welcomes us. The intention of the project is to take the user through an ever-changing and surprising journey. #mexico #mexican #courtyard. The concept of Casa M2 is an elongated “T” shaped volume located along the terrain that generates two large voids. This volume is composed of several platforms, the first is the level of income that passes through the garages, the study and some areas in the basement, the second is the natural level of the ground that is at the bottom achieving height and average in the area of the terrace and stay, the last platform is upstairs, where are the private areas of the house. The idea is that this great body is topped by a slab where its walls and roofs are folded to shelter certain areas of the house, achieving an intimacy towards the interiors and an opening towards the holes obtained by the “T” lying down. The project interweaves different sensations through this great body and its gaps.
The income manifests itself as a volume floated on a large wooden wall. As we pass through this great elevated and floated body, we arrive at a small space that welcomes us. The intention of the project is to take the user along an always changing and surprising route for him. The clients asked that the house be comfortable for their friends, that spaces be dynamic, that it be open and that the relationship of the land to the golf course be used. The area of the terrace and the dining room are convivial spaces where the golf course, pool, terrace, and estancia merge, as if they were a single space, taking advantage of the fresh climate that the city of Celaya has. It is a very generous space, placing the minimum of constructive elements. A floating structure was made that covers the area of the terrace and the room. In terms of materials, natural woods were used, steel structure painted in a dark gray color, apparent concrete walls based on staves on the ground floor, this is how the house levitates and sits on a large concrete base. As for the staircase, it meanders on one side, very light, almost floating and works as a backbone communicating the three platforms of the house.
